Hi everyone,
My name is Enoch Timothy and I'm a full stack developer, here is a compound list on how I've been able to submit proposals and either by bidding or not and get gigs to work on.

As you all know, on Upwork, connects are the platform's currency for applying to projects. However, there are a few strategies to minimize or avoid their use:
Search for Jobs with Low Competition: Apply to jobs that are less popular or newly posted, as these may have fewer applicants, reducing the need for many connects.
Leverage Invitations: Clients can invite you to apply for their projects. These invitations do not require connects to respond to.
Optimize Your Profile: A well-crafted profile can attract clients who might directly invite you to their projects, thus saving connects.
Participate in the Upwork Community: Engage in Upwork forums and groups to build connections and get noticed by clients who may offer projects directly.
Set Up Alerts: Use job alerts to be notified about new opportunities early. This can help you apply quickly, potentially avoiding high competition.
Your gig pricing: Many times clients search for a particular gig/freelance work and they often see your profile, but do you know what makes them message you, your pricing, you don't want to over price or under price your gigs. GIG 1 and GIG 2 has shown how pricing can be used to attract potential clients. You go low, they first take you as a cheap freelancer then they start considering If you are new or not, you go high they want to know why and what you have to offer, but when you use moderate price using the average $15 /hr of any average hourly paid person in Europe, use that to calculate your gigs, give it a good pricing then add links to your gig, links that takes them to your live product/project then you have bought their attention which is very much the only thing that's convincing enough for them to message you.
Using these approaches can help you manage or reduce your need for connects while still engaging with potential projects on Upwork.
Thank you.
