Agency members not allowed to Bid/Boost proposal

I have an agency with three members currently on a paid plan with sufficient connects.

All members have the same permission and access within the agency i.e.

  • Admin: Full
  • Business: Manager
  • Agency Contractor: Non-Exclusive
  • View Work Diaries: Team
  • Can Chat With: Company

While all three members can submit proposals, why is only one member generally allowed to bid/boost proposals? We have tried applying for a variety of jobs with different skill requirements, on very rare occasions all three members can bid and sometimes none can bid. But generally we find that the same ONE member is allowed to to bid while the other two can't (including agency owner).

There doesn't seem to have any relation between job type and who has the permission to bid.

Are there additional criteria related to the member profile required to submit a bid?

Thanks in advance for any help and suggestion.

Alvin

Hi Alvin,

Thank you for sharing your concern. Could you please share a screenshot of the error message you receive when trying to submit your proposals so I can check further?

Hi Ronna, Thanks for getting back.

All three members can submit proposals so there is no error message to screenshot. However, only one member can boost the proposal - I've attached two screenshots - from one user it allows optional boosting while the other (second image) there isn't the option.

Hello Alvin,

Thank you for replying. I am stepping in for Ronna. Just a quick note about Boosted Proposal auctions, please know that they last for up to seven days or until the client makes their first hire. If the auction has closed but the job remains open, the boost option won't be available. Additionally, some jobs might not be eligible for boosting, as this depends on how well the freelancer matches the job and client requirements. But don't worry, they can still submit a proposal regularly. Feel free to visit this helpful page for more information.

Hi Ivy,

May I know what aspect of the job and client requirement dictates whether a freelancer is a good match and is eligible for boosting?

Profile completeness? Rating? Total earnings? Skills?

Are these requirements/criteria laid out by the job poster/client or is this dictated by the Upwork algorithm?

Appreciate it if you could let us know, we can then make changes to our freelancer profiles to ensure all members are eligible for boosting.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you for your follow-up question, Alvin.

I would like to clarify that a freelancer's eligibility to boost is based on how good of a match a freelancer to the client's job post and requirements. You can learn more by visiting this helpful article
