Are clients able to see agency's members rates?

I understand that the agency owner is in charge to pay each team member their work outside of upwork, lets say payoneer or paypal.

My questions are:

- Are clients/customers going to pay the Agency hourly rate? or the Agency member rate?, considering that the agency can look into the freelancer member profile

- Whatever the deal is between the team member and agency, are they both able to see their rates mutually? I mean, is the client/customer able to see what is the member individual rate? is the team member able to see how much the client is paying hourly to the agency?

Thanks!

Hi Dennis,

The agency profile will always display key information that will be pulled from Upwork, including:

  • The agency roster, including the members and business managers
  • The date the account was created
  • The number of jobs, hours worked, and earnings of the agency on Upwork
  • The Agency’s Job Success Score
  • The range of the agency members’ hourly rates, or the custom agency hourly rate

The agency freelancers' profiles will link to the agency profile (and vice versa). The company name, tagline, description, and logo will be displayed on the agency members' profiles, proposals, and search results. Here's the help article for more information. Regarding the rate of the project, you may want to discuss this directly with your agency manager or owner so that you can agree on the rate you will include in the proposal to the client. All agency contracts are paid to the agency's account as well.

Not sure I understand the answer to this question:  When I submit a proposal on from the agency, I'm asked to select and assign an agency team member to it the proposal.

The question is: will that team member be able to see the proposed budet from the client?

Hi Charles,

This will depend on whether the Agency Member is Exclusive and whether the Agency Owner enabled the option to hide rates for them in the Agency Roster settings. If the Agency freelancer is Exclusive and has a profile that's either private or only visible to Upwork users, the Agency Owner can hide their rate. That way, that Exclusive Agency Member will not be able to see the rates and earnings on their own profiles, the Agency's Profile, or in the contract rooms. You read more about this here.

I think I worded this incorrectly, my apologies. My question is can my
agency members see the budget of potential clients after I assign it to
them?

Currently, the process is as follows:

1. Apply for a job via the agency name
2. Then you select the profile
3. Then the next dropdown is for me to select one of the agency members.

So I actually have two questions:

Once the proposal is done, will the agency member see it along with the
budget that the client is offering?

Also, what if you need more than one agency member to do the job?

Hi Charles,

If the job posting is public or its visibility is set as "Upwork users only," anybody on the platform is able to see the budget and other information on the job posting. That said, if you apply to the job on your agency member's behalf and then the client sends an offer to that member under the agency, the agency member won't see the financial details on that offer and in the Contract Room once that offer is accepted. All the payments on that contract will be sent to the agency account.

I'm new to the agency format on Upwork and one of my agency members asked if they could see the budgets being proposed for a project.  It doesn't make a difference to me one way or the other but I would like to have an answer for him.
