Dear Upwork Support,
I hope this message finds you well.
As an agency on Upwork, we highly value the platform's ability to connect us with clients and opportunities. However, I would like to raise a concern regarding the current policy on Connects usage and recovery when submitting proposals.
Currently, when we send a proposal to a client for a project, our Connects are spent regardless of whether the client considers our proposal or not. The only way to recover these Connects is if the client actively deletes our proposal. However, in our experience, clients often simply move on with the proposals they are interested in, without deleting the others. This results in our Connects being spent with no possibility of recovery, which feels unfair, especially when we are putting effort into crafting tailored proposals for each project.
We believe this policy could be more balanced and aligned with the reality of how clients interact with proposals. For example, a potential solution could be to automatically refund Connects for proposals that aren't viewed or considered after a certain period. Alternatively, a partial refund could be issued for proposals that remain unopened by the client.
We would appreciate it if you could review this concern and provide guidance on how we can make the best use of our Connects under the current system. Additionally, if there are any upcoming changes or considerations for improving this aspect of the platform, we would be eager to hear about them.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
