Hi. After a painful tax cycle I've decided to lean in to setting up some kind of bookkeeping software. There are a ton of them out there - my mentor has suggested Quickbooks. I'm also looking at the possibility of hiring 'Collective' - a bookkeeping service for solopreneurs that uses '**Edited for Community Guidelines**' that seems pretty fancy. What do you use and why?
Thanks so much!

I personally use QuickBooks, as it fits my needs at a good price (I use Simple Start Online, but perhaps Self Employed might be a good fit too, or even Desktop), but there are definitely a bunch out there depending on your needs. Collective seems like overkill for me personally, but again, just like any other product, there are people who will find it to be a good fit.
Basically, if something can automatically import my transactions from banks/cards, help me easily sort into tax-related categories, and give me a quick view of things like profit to help me estimate quarterly taxes if needed. For me, QuickBooks does fine with that. Others might need something with deeper inventory tracking, or other features. For others, something free or a spreadsheet might be all they need.
