Adjustment in payment

Hi Experts,

For a job post I made, I hired a freelancer for $50 but later due to an issue with not able to edit the file the freelancer decided to discontinue and we finalised to have $15 for the work done. Later I changed my contract to $15 and the payment is released to the freelancer.

My question here is, is a new debt of $15 made from my card or $15 is sent to the freelancer from $50 which was debited earlier? And wondering what happens to my remaining amount. Please assist me.

Thank you in advance.

If you set up a milestone/fixed-price contract with a $50 funded escrow payment, and then you released only $15...

...and then you closed the contract...

That means that $15 will go to the freelancer and the remainder ($35) will automatically be refunded to the funding source... your credit card or PayPal account.

Divya,

For the contract you are referring to $15 was released to the freelancer and the remaining was refunded back to your original payment method after the contract was closed. The refund should show up on your payment method within 5 days.
