Sure! That would be great if all freelancers were forced to tell their age.
Then the clients would have to follow suit.
Imagine you as a client not getting freelancers working on your projects because you're too old, or still just 18? That would be pretty frustrating I think. That's how the freelancers would feel if they were qualified but didn't meet your age requirements.
So, what personal inconsequential information are you willing to provide? How about how tall you are, what size shoes you wear, what brand shoes you wear, do you own your own home, what kind of car do you drive, do you have a real head of hair grown by you, how many times a week do you go to the gym, are you married...yadayadayada.
I imagine Upwork makes sure that freelancers are of legal age to be on the site, so you don't have to worry. Sure, some people might slip through the radar, but that's been happening for decades that people pretend to be a certain age.. not like me though. I've been 39 for the last number of years.
