Assistance Needed with Unresponsive Freelancer

Hello Upwork Community,

I hope everyone is doing well. I’m reaching out for help regarding an issue I’m experiencing with a freelancer on the platform.

I have been working with a freelancer on a project, and the payment was processed automatically without my request. At the time, I wasn’t too concerned because I had worked with her before and had a good experience. However, it has now been over two months since I last heard from her, and despite my repeated attempts to contact her, I have received no response.

I understand that personal matters can arise, but the lack of communication has left me worried about the status of the project and the professionalism of the engagement. I’ve tried to resolve this directly by requesting a refund, but I’m still awaiting a response.

I haven’t been able to speak to anyone from Upwork, as the chatbot isn’t a human, and it’s driving me crazy trying to find a way to reach someone for assistance.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or advice on how to proceed in this situation, including any steps I can take to file a complaint or seek a resolution.

Did you report her to Upwork Support team?

I think you missed your chance.
The money you paid is accumulated in an Escrow account on the Upwork site, and the freelancer can withdraw the money after a set period of time.
If you had reported it to the Upwork support team before that period of time, the problem could have been solved right away....
Please contact the support team now.

Thanks for the reply,

I didn't report it straight away as she messaged me saying she would be late a day or two and as I have worked with her twice in the past I trusted her... I still trust her I think maybe something has happened to her  ? 

How can I contact the support team? I've been trying to buy the chat is an AI auto reply and I've tried to call a few times. I haven't found a way to email and actual human who works for Upwork.

Dont waste time. Upwork will never share info about freelancer with you.

Just request refund and wait.

If you hire overseas many times the electricty and internet goes down and can be less reliable than the U.S. Not sure if this is the case.
