Can I pay only an amount of a milestone?

Hi!

I started a contract with a freelancer with a $300 budget. Tomorrow he will send me some of the work and I want to pay him $100 for the work he has done until now.

Can I pay him just $100 of the initial $300? I added another milestone but it appears that increase the total budget to $400, and I don't want to press the "Pay now" button in the current(only) milestone because I'm not sure if that release all the funds.

Thanks!
Julio

You can edit the amount while approving milestone.

So, it is safe to click on the ' Pay Now ' button.

Thanks Delware, but that implies that I will reduce the total amount of the budget? modifying the current(only) milestone?

You should releaase the payment for whatever it is your freelancer has submitted.

Idelly it would have made sense to have set up 3 milestones (or whatever) so you could have release 3 milestones against 3 sets of deliverables.

At this stage, however, releasing $ 100 for $ 100 worth of work is probably the way forward.

This will not affect (reduce or otherwise) the budget.
