Client closed the contract without telling me anything

Hi, I am quite new to upwork and after the first contract which went really good, a guy wanted to test his app, i accepted his contract and after 40 minutes he cancelled it, will it affect my ratings?

after i accepted i did not say anything to him in the chat and he neither.

i just saw the message from upwork that he had closed my contract..

is there anything i can do ?

Thank you

Daniel

Daniel:
Clients may close a contract at ANY TIME.

For any reason.

Clients have no obligation to inform a freelancer about their decision to close a contract.

As to your question about whether or not this will affect your JSS score ("ratings"):

I can assure you that whether or not a client informs a freelancer that they are going to close a contract does NOT have any impact on JSS.

If you logged 40 minutes of time (or even just 10 minutes of time), then the contract will NOT be a zero-pay contract, which can have a negative impact on JSS. So don't worry. The only thing that will affect your JSS about th is contract will be the client's private and public feedback. That is true whether or not you are informed about the closure of the contract beforehand, and whether or not the contract lasted 40 minutes or 40 weeks.
