I need your help.
I wanted to pay a freelancer who did a great job. However, when approving the 1st milestone I ended the contract (I think) and now I can't pay the remaining amount.
Do you have a solution?
I was thinking of paying it as "bonus" but that's seems a last resort solution.
There's nothing wrong with sending a bonus after the fact ... it all goes to the same place and your freelancer will appreciate it.
ETA: Was the job completed, or were you going to add another milestone for more work?
You don't have any active contracts currently so I assume you closed the contract. At this point you can either issue a bonus on the closed contract or you would need to re-hire the freelancer for a new contract in order to make a payment.
