I've never used Upwork. I am looking for a person who knows how to set up a Youtube channel. They all list themselves as Youtube marketers. How can I trust that they have any experience in what I want to do?

Based on some complaints here, that's not a 100% sure-way to get good freelancers. It's safer to spend some time & little money at the beginning than betting $1000 escrow to someone's profile.

There is no way to know before you hire a freelancer if they will be able to do what you need them to do.

It is important that whenever you hire any freelancer, you keep in mind: "This may not work out."

That's okay!

My advice to you would be to hire FOUR freelancers to simply TALK.

In your job posting, specifically state that you want to TALK about setting up a YouTube channel.

Then hire four freelancers and TALK to them for 30 minutes each.

After you do that, you will be more knowledgeable about the process.

AND you may have identified a freelancer who you want to hire to actually help you set up a YouTube chanel.
