I hired a developer, i asked him to make a custom plugin from a theme i bought to use on my old theme . What he did was just copy-paste someone else work which i am not in favour with + the plugin doesn't even work . Should i get a refund for the job and if so then how does anyone know ?

If a developer provided poor or non-functional work, you can request a refund. First, document the issues with evidence like communications and screenshots. Communicate the problems with the developer and request a refund directly. If unresolved, go to your contract on Upwork, click "More," then "Request a Refund," and provide details. If the developer denies it, escalate to Upwork's dispute resolution. Upwork reviews the case based on provided evidence to make a decision. Clear documentation and communication are key to a successful refund process.
