Freelancer Feedback and Ratings Not Visible

A contractor I'm considering working with has flagged to me that my account has negative feed back from freelancers. His screenshot shows an average rating of 2.75 stars from 2 contractors. I've worked with an awful lot of contractors over a decade, and I've never been notified of any negative feedback. I've gone through my all of my contracts, and there is no negative feedback from contractors on any of the contracts. Where do I find this feedback, and why did the platform not give me any chance to address it or even let me see it?

Hi Josh,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Clients do not have profiles like freelancers, but you can easily find feedback on one page.

It is in every public job post. Kindly go to "View job post" and scroll down to the "Client's recent history" section.

You would also have had the option to respond to the freelancer's feedback. Please check this help article for more information.

I'm not sure you understood what he is asking about. Why do you point him to view job post? And if it REALLY works this way then whole UW should be reworked from the ground (but definitely by other people, those running it now are, well, incapable) since it is aganist the logic when the client, to see THEIR OWN feedback received, must resort to viewing their own job post. Also, this is yet another point to the "give clients profiles like freelancers have" discussion.

You can see the feedback.
Attached are the steps that I had researched in the past.

There are two types of feedback on this site - public and private. They don't have to match. In fact, they are often used by weak minded, cowardly people to backstab as they have no courage to speak openly. You can have 5 stars public feedback and 1 star private feedback. As far as I know, private feedback matters more (also for freelancers, we suffer from decreased JSS if private, negative feedback doesn't match the 5 star rainbow sweet public one and why peole do this I have no idea, I am not psychiatrist), for unknown reason that even UW cannot explain logically.

All in all, both feedbacks are counted towards overall score.

Actually, they are used to extract honest feedback from people who are too weak and cowardly to tell the truth in public.

People lie in public feedback for many reasons. One is that they feel it's impolite to tell the truth. Another is that they don't want to hurt the freelancer's feelings. Another is that they don't want the freelancer to harass them about the feedback. Another is that the freelancer has harassed them about the feedback, to the point that they have caved in and changed their public feedback to a lie. Private feedback protects against all that, and allows the client to tell the truth without social ramifications or freelancer harassment.

Unfortunately, some people on some specific condition (like doing jobs only occasionally) can really tell who has given the bad feedback 😀

😂

I used to give bad stars to Uber drivers who took a single wrong turn during their trip to pick me up. I have "the courage" to speak out that they are incompetent in following route in Maps. There's a lot more "criteria" during the trip, that could worsen the already-bad-from-the-start stars.

Right now, because of age maybe, I've becoming more "tolerant" and "forgiving" and "understanding". I don't see what I've done in my past self as "courage". But that's me.

I did what I did because I feel the combination of accurate feedbacks  can help the entire society. But other than my "current reasons" for no longer doing it, I also see it's impossible to tell everyone to do it like I did. I realized that I was the only one in my "circle" who's being that "strict".

Right now I always give full stars on any gig-based services unless the service is extremely bad, dangerous, or harmful.

I have a recent job here from a difficult client. Coming from hell, he boast about how experienced he is and how he has people who can actually complete the job but "they are not available right now". The job is actually silly. It's about "undoing" something done by some big services, that has a greater purpose than the client's reason of undoing it. I politely tell the client about it. But as an "experienced" person, he didn't like it, although I still did what he asked. We both provided full public stars but bad private feedbacks. If this job happened in the past, I would've provided him with 1 star and a nasty comment 😁

I still believe in honesty and use it daily. For that I am hated everywhere but I will not change my attitude just because some kids can't stand someone who doesn't beat around the bush and has opinion that they're not afraid to share. True, I don't fit anywhere but I don't care. I'd rather stay myself and be able to look myself in the eyes in the mirror than become lazy, retarded lier that are all over the place everywhere.

Greetings from dinosaur 😎
