Freelancer is sending threatening and harassing messages.

I would like to file an official complaint against a freelancer who has on more than one occasions sent me harassing and threatening messages. I would appreciate Upwork assistance.

Hi Nicole,
It's sorry to hear that you are facing harassment from a freelancer. It is an unusual case, not happens in general.

But the truth is always truth. So I request you to contact the Upwork support and chat or mail them with the necessary screenshots. So that they can check out the problem and find a solution for you.

You can go to support by using the link:

And then click on the green "Get support" button at the bottom right corner.  Then select

Client --> Get Support --> Contact support

and then follow the instruction to chat directly with an agent.

Hope they will solve your issue soon.

If the messages are sent in Upwork's messenger, feel free to report them directly by clicking on the cog on the right hand side of the message and select "Report".

I would also suggest you stop engaging with the freelancer because that is completely pointless. Block them and move on. In the unlikely evetn that you have a current contract with the freelancer, it's time to end the contract and walk away.

Thanks Petra. I have not responded to the freelance but she was "threatening" to take it further if I don't change my feedback. I have been in touch with the moderator and hourly it will be resolved soon.
