For those who have worked with clients on Upwork or have experience as a client, how do you perceive the 'Rising Talent' badge? Does it influence your decision to hire a freelancer? I'm curious about the importance of this badge and whether it helps new freelancers stand out.

generally speaking, the Rising Talent badge on Upwork is often seen as a positive indicator of a freelancer's potential. It suggests that the freelancer has demonstrated consistent quality work and is considered a promising emerging talent in their field. While it may not be the sole factor in a client's decision, it can certainly be a helpful consideration.

Most of my jobs is coming in after "rising freelancers" and cleaning the slop they generated and dealing with the client treating me poorly because they got scammed by that thing.
In fact, I have seen the same guy's name on github twice this year on projecting coming in that needed "emergency" help.

As a client, the "Rising Talent" badge holds little significance to me. This accolade is awarded simply for completing your profile, which is the bare minimum any freelancer should do when starting. Therefore, the "Rising Talent" status has no impact on my decision-making.

I have completed my profile\, but then, my status is not a rising talent. Can you suggest what to do?

Most clients don't value it that much anymore. Why? They have realized that some freelancers hire each other with low fixed rates($20 - $35) to get the badge. What matters most is your skills, portfolio, and work ratings.
