Hello everyone,
I'm new in Upwork, as a (potential) client.
I have posted an offer for a freelance developper +/- 8 days ago, but our project has finally changed and we don't need a freelance anymore.
I'd like to send a message to the freelancers that have applied to our offer.
It seems I can't... Or?
Is there somebody here that can let me know how to decline politely their applications, and apologize?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Juliette.

That happens, a polite way would be to close the job posting

That would notify everyone who applied that you no longer need to hire for that post and would remove the post so that you do not receive new applications.

There's no need to decline each proposal if the client closes the job.

Thanks Luqman!
This, was already done (removing the job posting).
I did not know that it would notify everyone, that's great then! 🙂
Thanks again! 👍

Closing a job does not actually notify anyone.
They will just see this when they visit the job post.

That depends on your notification settings. You can receive notifications when a job you've sent a proposal on is canceled or closed. And, the proposal is moved from your current listing to archived when the job is closed.

Once in a while, I do receive very nice messages from clients who have decided not to give me a job.
It makes me happy to see that some clients understand that this may disappoint freelancers. But to tell you the truth, as a freelancer, you tend to get used to this kind of situation and not take it too seriouslyl
