So called "Upwork Talent Specialists" are annoying to death. The first one is tracking all my activity and always send me the automatic messages when I do something, like creating a job post or sealing a contract. Then he said that he reviewed my job post and invited someone to the job (I didn't ask for that), and then appeared another UTS who lead me a freelancer without relevant skills. I don't want to spend the time to review irrelevant candidates and to talk to these UTSs, I can't block them, because they are a kind of superusers, so what should I do to make them not spam me?

Message one of the talent specialists and state that you will seek their advice when needed, but otherwise wish to opt out of talent specialist assistance. One invited a flower arranger to my engineering job. They mean well.

And if Bill's suggestion doesn't work
1.File a ticket with Customer Service
2. Request to be removed from any possible 'Talent Specialist's' reach
3. If you get another TS bothering you > reopen your ticket and start squawking. Loudly.

Bill, I'm ROFL! The overall talent specialist (so called) situation would be humorous if it wasn't so very sad.

Hi Bill,
I wanted to check if you have communicated with your specialist before to be removed from the program? The team has confirmed that they can do that for you.
The team also was unable to identify which job post they have sent you a mismatched freelancer for. If you can send it to me through a private message, I'll forward it to the team so that they can go have a look.
Please let me know!

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, Pavel, and Bill. I've shared this with the team so that we can improve our Talent Specialists Program.

Again.
Reminds me of the time one of them invited me to a job I was already hired on... and how awkward that could have been for my client (who had never asked for any "help" from the TSs.)

There's a way for freelancers to opt out of receiving messages from talent specialists. I've done it, and I'm no longer bothered by those pests. Isn't there a similar opt-out for clients? And why not make opting out easier? Or, better still, make it the default state.

I'd like to ask how I too can disable the so-called (robotic / automated, not a real person) talent specialist. Ninety nine out of 100 times the suggestions are a waste of time and only make me feel as though I'm being penalized if I ignore them. So, I waste time declinging the suggestion. It's not helpful. If I want work I'll find it myself.

Hi Rafael,
I'm sorry to learn that being invited by Talent Specialists has inconvenienced you. I have forwarded your request to the team so that they can remove you from any talent sourcing initiatives.

Years later and this is still a major issue! There needs to be an easy way for freelancers to opt-out of these. I have received 5 or 6 of them in the last few weeks and NONE of them are a match for what I do. So freaking annoying.

This is so true. It's been 2022 and I am surprised that no one from Upwork has bothered to solve this issue. I have been harassed by those bots from every job post I posted. When I asked them for some simple question, they suddenly disappeared lol. The most disrespectful part is they start inviting candidates without my consent. And the candidates think I am the one inviting them and ask for my response
