How will Upwork address the flood of ChatGPT proposals?

I posted two unrelated jobs today (US only, for what's it worth) and received of a flood of identical proposals that follow the same, obviously AI-generated format. Two are below, but there were many more. I remember a forum post saying that ChatGPT proposals were verboten, but it's prevalent and done openly with impunity. I asked one why he didn't simply submit a normal proposal and he said: "I am using chatGPT to help me respond better. I am not very good at explaining details but if you wonโ€™t pick me thatโ€™s fine. Have a nice day."

That response shows me that, assuming Upwork is legitimately forbidding ChatGPT in proposals and content, there needs to be a better messaging mechanism if these guys don't know they're violating the Terms.

As a small-time client, it's annoying to pick through ChatGPT proposals to find the real ones. But more importantly for me as a freelancer, it's giving professional clients a poor experience that's going to make them avoid the platform.

Upwork could address the flood of ChatGPT proposals by enhancing AI detection mechanisms, strictly enforcing policies, educating freelancers, and providing better reporting tools for clients.

Really... They push AI everywhere like it is new Jesus or whatever, what made you think they can control it, let alone enhance "AI detection mechanisms". They haven't such mechanisms, if they had, they would be forced to muzzle themselves. Also, it would perhaps allow me to get any job as I am genuine illustrator and I am losing to lunatics using AI to generate product of no value, but easily swallowed by similar lunatics that pose as clients. It's a paradise for illiterate AI worshipers.

TRUTH IS THE FREELANCERS WHO AUCTUALLY ARE DEDICATED TO DOING THE JOBS RIGHT ARE NOT HIRED OR GIVEN A CHANCE EVEN WHEN YOU SEND THEM YOUR WORK,THEY DONT VIEW OR THEY DO AND NO RESPONSE BECAUSE PROBABLY THE PERSON IS EITHER NEW,NO REVIEWS YET BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY THEY HAVENT HAD ANY WORK DONE OR EVEN GIVEN A CHANCE OR THEY HAVENT GAINED ANY BADGE YET. I AM A FREELANCE PROOFREADER AND WRITER AND I CAN SAY FOR A FACT THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE THE CASE AND IT DOES HONESTLY CONTRIBUTE TO THE CASE IN DISCUSSION HERE.

HI WILLIAMS,

I KNOW BECAUSE IF I WERE TO BE A CLIENT ,I WOULD RATHER EMPLOY SOMEONE WITH A TRACK RECORD AND AN EXPERT IN THE FIELD WITH ATLEST A 75% CHANCE OF JOB SUCCESS THAN HIRE AN UPCOMING WITH NO RECORD,THATS IF WE ARE BEING BRUTALLY HONEST.

I can asboultely understand your pain . This is a kind of real challange clients are facing. Most of my clients are directly sending message for their open position and post interview , they decide to hire me or not. You might also take this path.

I CAN SAY FOR A FACT THAT ITS QUITE A CHALLENGE, I AM NEW HERE NOT UP TO A MONTH BUT I HAVE SENT OUT 43 PROPOSALS SO FAR BUT NO RESPONSE OR INVITES .I AM NOT IN A HURRY OR ANYTHING BUT I THINK THE NEW FREELANCERS ARE NOT GIVING ANY CHANCES TO ATLEAST PROVE THEMSELVES,I GET TO READ MOST REVIEWS ON THE TOP RATED AND TO BE HONEST I THINK BETTER COULD HAVE DONE .

New freelancers need marketable skills, and if you are going to write and proofread in a language, you need to be native or bilingual. There are thousands of highly-skilled writers, editors, and proofreaders here. New freelancers are not being denied chances, any more than experienced ones. It's the platform, and you need to be as close to perfect as possible, with in-demand skills, and exemplary marketable skills.

HELLO JEANNA, I MUST SAY I DO NOT COMPLETELY AGREE WITH  YOU.

WITH THAT SAID,I WANT TO BELIEVE THESE TOP RATED EXPERTS STARTED SOMEWHERE,PEOPLE TOOK CHANCES WITH THEM EXPERT LEVEL OR ENTRY LEVEL BUT WE ALL STARTED SOMEWHERE.YOU NEVER IN YOUR WORDS MENTIONED THAT ENTRY LEVEL CAN BE QUITE AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THAN EXPERIENCED ONES ? WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT BREEDS OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DIFFERENT MENTAL CAPACITY. I NEVER IN MY STATEMENT MENTIONED ENTRY LEVEL BUT NEW FREELANCERS ON THIS PLATFORM WHO DOESNT HAVE THE BADGE ,TESTIMONIALS AND REVIEWS TO SHOW THEY ARE GOOD BECAUSE THEY ARE NEW ON THE PLATFORM .MOST FREELANCERS ARE NEW BUT SEASONED IN THEIR RESPECTIVE FIELD. MY CASE IN POINT IS BECAUSE THEIR ARE RESTRICTIONS AND PREFERENCES MOST CLIENT DONT EVEN GET TO OPEN THESE PROPOSALS BECAUSE ONE OR TWO THINGS  BASICALLY HINDERS YOU ,ITS EITHER YOU DONT HAVE THE RISING STAR BADGE OR YOU MUST BE IN A CERTAIN COUNTRY.AND DONT GET ME WRONG EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR CHOICES AND PREFERENCES,I AM JUST POINTING OUT SOME FACTORS. I FOR ONE IF BEING BRUTALLY HONEST ,I WOULD RATHER EMPLOY SOMEONE WHO HAS A TRACK RECORD OF RESULT THAN THE LATTER. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT,YOU ARE ALSO NOT ENTIRELY WRONG.

I am only using my words to propose a proposal to the job, but as I did research from my 40 proposal maybe 5 to 6 proposal were viewed, and If we see some guys who are using the "AI" versions they get pretty quick response with eye catchy clunky words!

I have made a similar posting here,

You need to reach out to Upwork and ask them to get the developer to modify their template of the proposal
