My potential client invited me but isn't replying to my message.

My potential client invited me but isn't replying to my message.

One of my potential clients accepted my proposal, and he(or she) invited me.

We had several conversations about how will this project work, how many hours I could have, etc.

But after 2~3 times replying to each other(in hours), my client hasn't answered my message for two days now.

He is not a scammer. I saw Great reputations and reviews in his history.

Should I send an additional message to him? or wait for it?
I am new to Upwork. Please give me some advice on how to handle this situation. Thanks.

Hi Jeong Yeon,

Your client may have times when they do not respond or communicate as quickly as usual for many reasons โ€” busy on several projects, technical issues, a family emergency, etc. You may give them more time to get back to you; however, you are under no obligation to continue waiting for their reply. You can continue applying to other jobs that fit your skills and experience.

Jeong,

I wait 1 or 2 days and my Invites get a message: "Do you have any outstanding questions or has the project been completed?"

Try that. Have a great day!

Thanks. I will try it later. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for your advice. Then, I need to wait for him.

If client is not responding than probably either requirment has gone on hold or he is evaluating other options. Be patient to hear back from client as he might take some time to respond to you. However keep trying other position.

Hello,

It's common for clients to become busy or sidetracked and take longer to respond, especially if there are other priorities or urgent tasks that need to be taken care of. In this situation, you could send an additional message to the client, but be mindful of how you approach the subject.

A polite and professional follow-up message could look something like this:

"Hello [Client Name],

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to check in and see if there have been any updates regarding our previous conversations about the project. I am eager to move forward and get started, so please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you soon."

By sending a message like this, you are showing your professionalism and persistence while also giving the client the opportunity to respond if they are ready to do so. If you don't hear back after another few days, you could consider sending another follow-up message, but don't become too persistent as it could make you come across as pushy.

In the end, it's up to the client to decide how they want to proceed, so it's best to be patient and understanding. Good luck!

Thanks. I was wondering how to send a follow-up message without being pushy. You gave me one of the best examples to do so.

In all fairness, there should be a reasonable amout of time for a client to respond.  Sure things happen, but within reason there needs to be a set limit.
