Hello!
Is it safe and normal as a client to ask me to 'sign' a non-disclosure agreement and a file lifespan and security policy by entering my email and my name to a link she provided to me? It sounds like this:
'Given the sensitive nature of the documents handled by our company, could you please sign the documents below, using the respective links?'
Thank you!

Yep, NDA's are common.
Should only require your full name, date and a signature. Anything more requested than that you don't have to provide if you don't feel comfortable.

And the client has not hired me yet. Is it normal to sign it before?

All she wants is your name and email address?
There's nothing wrong with that.
Just create a throw-away email address to use only for this project.
And to answer your question:
Yes, it is normal to sign an NDA before being hired.

If all this person wants is name and email address, I'd sign it LOLing at the fact that their attorney is not so smart.

IF the client seems reliable, with history, and is not interviewing loads and loads of people and has a verified payment method I might, after turning on all virus protection before clicking on any links. I would also make sure I use a disposable email addy for this in case I am signing up for something weird like a spam database or a lifetime supply of porn being delivered to my inbox...
That does not sound like an NDA, it sounds like harvesting contacts.

Actually, there was a signature and date as well (I saw it after reading the NDA). The client's profile is reliable. I have never signed an NDA so far, that's why I was confused. The documents have personal information, probably she wanted some extra security. And I wanted not to break any Upwork policy as well.
Thank you for your responses!
