Ok so, Here is the situation,

I am working on a project with a freelancer and I wanna add funds for the project to pay for the freelancers services.


For some reason I cant add any funds, now I live in Australia, so I use AUD, and I even have my default currency set to AUD.

I add a card to pay, this is what I get: (Refer to Credit Card image)

I add a PayPal to pay, this is what I getSmiley SadRefer to PayPal image)

I tried adding the amount in AUD and even the USD equivalent, and no matter what I tried, It didnt work at all.

So I tried the support bot who was less than helpful.

I searched for a Upwork Customer Support email, and apparently, there isnt one.

So I resorted to the upwork forums.

I would like to get this apparent issue fixed asap.

Hi Nathan, 

I'm sorry to learn about your experience with adding a billing method to your Upwork account. I can see that you have tried adding a credit card, and your Paypal account as your billing method. Upon checking, it looks like your bank has declined the verification charges on your card. I would recommend that you contact your bank directly and request for more information why your credit card was declined on Upwork. 


As for your Paypal account, you may need to add an alternative payment method to your PayPal wallet in order to add your PayPal account as a payment method on Upwork.
