Profile Being Rejected

Hoping someone can assist.

I wanted to hire a freelance worker referred by another freelancer I employ on Upwork. As a background I have been an employer on upwork for over 5 years and spent well over $100k

So the new freelancer profile is here > **Edited for Community Guidelines** and Upwork have said I cannot hire her and her profile cannot be used "This freelancer is not available for job invitations."

I have asked upwork support why and they didn't give an answer. They just said "I am associated with this user".

I know who they are and help setup their profile, I wanted to hire them as a direct contact. I have hired over 50 people on Upwork previously. many I have met in person.

Is there a rule against hiring a freelancer you already know?

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you

There is a very strict rule against hiring to artificially boost someone's chances to get a profile approved or to give someone their first contract and feedback.

It can and probably will see both accounts suspended.

I find it highly offensive that you accuse me of charging people to enhance their profile.

"How much do you charge the people whose profiles you "help to set up" before "fake-hiring" them?"

I expect an apology.

Here are the stats from my profile. Hardly the statistics of someone who is here to start helping people create fake profiles. I have better more lucrative things to do with my time. I'm an Australian employer with a real business, been a member since 2009 and spent allot more than $100,000 on here.

So Upwork and the community "assume" I'm hiring someone to artificially boost their profile?

I currently have 2 employees who have been working for me for over 2 years. Neither of them have had a review from me yet.

---------------------------------------------------------------

I just found a section called "Invite a Freelancer"
Already working with a freelancer outside of Upwork? Make your life easier by inviting them to join and use our collaboration, time tracking and payment tools.

Question: So why can't I hire a new freelancer who has been referred to me? Other people obviously do.

 1) I removed the offensive passage immediately, but I do apologize for having written it in the first place.

2) You CAN (theoretically)  invite that freelancer, in which case she would be able to work with you (and you only) even if her profile is not accepted for the overall marketplace.

3) Presumably the "connection" between that freelancer and yourself was flagged by the system, maybe when you "helped" her set up her profile you logged into her account? That too could lead to account suspensions.

Hi Jay,

I see you already have an open ticket about hiring this freelancer on Upwork. I'll follow up with the team you communicated with and they'll update you directly via that ticket as soon as possible.

Thanks!
