Question about hiring

I have some white-label work I need to outsource to a freelancer I know (not personally, just through social media). I'm going to create a job post and invite him.

I'd like to ask if this is against Upwork rules? It's real work, and there's a lot to be done.

Yes, as long as there is no conflict of interest that is ok. Since you're looking to invite one particular freelancer, I would recommend that you create a private job post so that you don't receive any unwanted proposals.
