Cancelling a job does not mean you get a refund.

Sometimes you do. Sometimes you don't.

Was it an hourly or fixed-price job?

Hi Koby,

I checked your account and can see that you do not have a contract yet with your chosen freelancer. If you think that he will not be able to complete the job, you may withdraw your offer to him. This will refund the money in escrow to you.

Thanks to the Forum Moderator for clarifying the original poster's specific situation.

Koby:

Right now, all you need to do is withdraw the contract offer and you will AUTOMATICALLY get all the money back. You don't need to do anything else.

BUT: If you delay, and if the freelancer ACCEPTS the contract offer, then you will only be able to get a refund if the freelancer agrees to giving you a refund.
