Regular Communication with freelancers

I am currently working with 2 freelancers and both of them are pros at their roles and hence have a good hourly rate.

Should I keep communicating with them daily in order to keep a track of their work or can I simply focus on other tasks that I have and wait for them to write to me when they need?

Thank you.

How long have you been working with them?

Hourly contract or fixed rate?

freelancers with lots of history on Upwork?

What is the job (which field?)

Deepak, it’s your choice, although personally I would find daily communication excessive (although I would never tell a client this), unless the freelancer asked you something. But even excessive communication is better than no communication.

Also, keep in mind that excessive daily communication might be irritating if it is a fixed price contract - it does take time.  The FL may not have done any work.  Just becasue you gave a contract does not mean they have to spend every waking moment on your project.

If it is hourly job, I would love to chat with you - I am on your meter.  Everything I do like writing e-mails gets charged to you.

You have to strike a balance.
