SCAM

Do not use **Edited for community guidelines**.  She is a SCAMMER.  I had a simple project.  Put the funds in escrow per the agreement for a fixed price job.  A very simple job of creating three HTML emails.  The freelancer IMMEDIATELY asked for more money before even starting the job.  When the final deliverables were due the refused to release them unless more money was paid.  Funds have been tied up in escrow as she will not complete the job or release the funds.  AVOID her at all cost!!

Hi Robert,

I'm sorry about your experience with this freelancer.  The system will block out the freelancer's name momentarily.

Know moving forward you have the ability to close the contract at any time.  If you have red flags before the project even begins (ex: asking for more money), you could have said no and chosen another freelancer.

If she refused to deliver the emails, you should have closed the job.  Payment should be given for work completed.  I'm confused by this comment:

"Funds have been tied up in escrow as she will not complete the job or release the funds."

As a client YOU release the funds.  If the freelancer submits via the submission tool (I assume this is a fixed project), she/he will automatically receive the funds in escrow after 14 days if you do nothing.

Why aren't you closing the job, not pay (the funds in escrow will be returned to you) and provide honest feedback about your experience?  Why don't you flag the freelancer?

Hi Robert,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with this Freelancer. I see that you have a dispute ticket where our mediation specialist is communicating with you and the freelancer. I'll follow up with the team and they'll update you directly on that ticket as soon as possible.

Thank you!
