One of my freelancers llives in New York. The total billed to me is higher than his hourly rate times the number of hours worked by 6.06%. Is this New york state tax?

Hi Sunny,
Please note that 4:40h is calculated as:
4 * 56USD + (56USD/6)*4 = 224USD + 37,33USD = 261,33USD.
Thank you!

Hi Sunny,
Upwork doesn't charge state tax on billings. I checked and I see that the only additional fee charged to your account is the Payment Processing fee of 3%. In your Transaction report, you should be able to see all the transactions as well as the information about rates and hours billed.
Thank you!

Thank You for replying. However, in looking at all our invoices from **Edited for community guidelines**, I see that the amount charged is higher than his hourly rate.
Example: Invoice #T306556951 is 4.40 hrs @ $56/hr = 246.60. However, the
amount charged is $261.33. The 3% payment processing fee is added on to
the $261.33 = $269.17 charged on our credit card. I don't see what the
extra $14.93 ($246.40+$14.93=$261.33) is for. Thanks for explaining this.

Got it.. I was thinking it was 4/10 of an hour, which would be 24 minutes. Now I know is 40 minutes. Big difference. Thank You for your help!
