Upwork Dispute Specialist is related to the freelancer

Hello... The freelancer clearly said on the Dispute letter that she invited someone by the name to our messages to revise the chats, the call we had via Upwork and the documents. Then, suddenly, the same person contacted me through email as the Upwork Dispute Specialist for our case.

 

According to the Terms of Disputes, this isn't very clear because the Upwork Dispute Specialist is not evaluating the work quality, quantity, or usability at this stage.

 

1) Skipping the Upwork platform Dispute Terms by inviting an Upwork Dispute Specialist whom she knows by the name to review our messages and revise the Case before he contacts me...

 

2) The same Upwork Dispute Specialist she invited became the Upwork Dispute Specialist for our case...

 

So I'm really confused because if this isn't illegal overreach from both the freelancer and the Upwork Dispute Specialist, it is a conflict of interest?

Thank you for your message. I am sorry to hear about your experience with a Freelancer and how you feel about our Dispute process. When a Freelancer initiates a Dispute, the Dispute case is assigned automatically to the next available Dispute specialist. Both Freelancers or the Dispute specialists do not have an option to pick each other. I see that one of our Dispute Specialists reached out to you after your Freelancer contacted us for assistance on your contract. An Upwork dispute specialist will provide mediation assistance to both parties to try and resolve the matter and will make an unbiased and non-binding recommendation if you and your freelancer are unable to reach an agreement. Hello... Thank you for explaining the Dispute process, but that's not my subject. You could contact me to understand the case, instead, you are feeling sorry for both of us. This is unprofessional... and because of the way you are handling this and not taking my comment seriously, I can't trust that my intellectual property and confidential information is secure, so I simply released the freelancer 500$ on 19th June to end this dispute, and of course, I will simply not use Upwork platform to hire people for my investment, Mabey for some small task's.. like logos and so on...

 

By the way ... I find out yesterday that 25th June that the dispute is still not cancelled because the Upwork dispute specialist,

They don't know each other. If the freelancer filed the dispute, she may have been contacted first and that's how she knew the name of the mediator.

As calls are not recorded, nobody would or could be reviewing any calls.
