VAT No Invoices Client Account

Dear Upwork Team,

a freelancer we have worked with reached out to us notifying us that the VAT No. of the invoice is incorrect.

Upon checking I regrettably confirm that given the VAT No. was fetched from the company details and such is only my German Tax No. this is sadly correct. This creates a tax issues for both myself, as well as the freelancer I have worked with.

Sadly the VAT No. is not part of the tax information on my client profile, so I simply overlooked it. I can however confirm that on my freelancer account that VAT No. is set and hasn't been changed.

Greatly appreciate your help with this, I have spent apprx. 20K this year on the platform so that is a pretty severe problem for me and freelancers that have worked for me. 

Reiterating that my tax information is updated, hasn't been changed and does obviously correspond to the correct VAT ID on my freelancer account.
