We agreed a payment with the freelancer and we're not able to implement it!

Hi everyone! This is what happened to me, hope anyone went through the same problem and knows how to solve it 🙂

 

- I hired a freelancer, put $100 in escrow for the first milestone.

- She took one week to deliver something that was completely wrong.

- I canceled the contract.

- Then (via upwork chat) we agreed I will pay her $40 to avoid going to a dispute.

 

At my dashboard there is no option to send her money. So she rejected my "escrow refund request".

 

Me and the freelancer both agreed that $40 would solve the problem, but Upwork doesn't give me the choice to do so... it's so frustrating... and they only have a chat bot that gives you no helpful answer.

 

Has anyone been through this?

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with this freelancer. If a client asks for a refund and the freelancers reject it, both parties will have the option to open a dispute. Under Upwork Fixed-Price Protection, disputes enter a mediation process with an Upwork dispute specialist.
