What is with the double profile?

I both work and hire on this platform.

Why do I have to switch between two profiles?   Somehow Elance manged to maintain one profile for me to act both as a client and freelancer.  But not Upwork...now I have to toggle between the two. It's confusing my clients as well, one of them tried to message me on the client side.

Exactly! And it's not only that (which I think is a small scheme to charge us an extra dollar if we want to pay the freelancers we hire from the money we make on the site). If your freelancer opens your client profile, they will probably see your freelancer profile, which is quite silly. So, they can't even get that part right.

I agree! It makes no sense and creates issues. I am convinced it is the source of some errors I've incurred trying to message with my clients.
