You cannot join this team until the client adds a complete address. Please wait until the client do

Hi

 

I get the error "You cannot join this team until the client adds a complete address. Please wait until the client does so." when trying to hire a freelancer. I already have my address on file and on file with my payment credit card.

 

What's happening?

 

How do I fix it?

For those looking for the solution off of Google:

Under Settings > My Info > Company Contacts Address is the part that the client needs to fill out.

In my case, the client had said they filled out their address, but they had filled out the tax form address.

Hi, 

I'm new to upwork. It seems I have the same issue here. I try to hire someone, but got the same message. 

I have already did the hiring procedure twice...I'm not sure I should do it a third time as I don't want to be debited everytime I try. Can someone help ? Thanks

I checked and it looks like you were able to hire a freelancer today. Could you please confirm if you're referring to a different freelancer that you're experiencing this issue with?

Hi,

I am currently having this problem and I have cleared cache and cookies and used a different brower. The free lancher said that she has completed her address. Please help...

Are you trying to add a team member to your account? Could you please complete the Company's contact information and address in your settings here? Let us know if you continue experiencing the same issue afterward.

Or, maybe Upwork should improve the UI to collect this info so it doesn't slow us down when we go to award our first contract. Clearly the UI is creating plenty of tickets.

I've seen this problem on my last two contracts. Why is it incumbent upon me as the freelancer to report this error to the client?

 

Simple solution: clients should not be able to submit a job without first submitting their address. Easy. Done. Upwork, please make this change.
