a freelancer overcharging

hi

a freelancer who been inactive for 12 months charged $80 fopr work not done, and i cant appeal through upwork, where do i do

Close the contract so that the freelancer can not log time any more.

I'm sorry to learn about your experience with the freelancer. The hours the freelancer tracked are from this week, meaning you haven't been billed for those yet. You also paused the contract, which was a good decision.

 

You will be billed for those hours next week, Monday UTC, which will mark the start of your review period. At that point, you will be able to dispute those hours, and you'll have until Friday that same week to do so. When you do that, a dispute specialist will review and evaluate the contract's Work Diary using the criteria stated in Upwork Hourly Protection. Feel free to have a look at this article for more information on how the process works.
