changing a contract

Hello, I accidentally did a contract based on weekly hours rather than a flat fee. How do I change it? Do I have to cancel it, then reissue it? Thanks

Yes.

Must cancel and create a new contract,

No way to convert current hourly contract to a fixed-price contract.

Ideally you should allow the freelancer to log at least 10-30 minutes before closing the contract.

If no money is paid the job it will have a negative impact on their profile (JSS). He may even refuse to accept the new fixed price contract.

I appreciate Andrei's post, for pointing out that a zero-pay contract negatively impacts a freelancer.

But you don't actually need to let the freelancer log any time.

If the freelancer has already logged any time at all, then you can close the contract immediately, and it will not have any negative impact.

If the freelancer has not logged any time at all, then all you need to do is use the client-side "Pay Bonus" tool to give the freelancer a token bonus payment ($5.00 works well), and then close the contract.
