same cover letter

So, I posted a job recently on Upwork. Of the first batch of freelancers, about half sent me the exact same cover letter, claiming the same experiences and skills. What's up with that?

Beware. 

Most likely you will get scammed.  I bet all of them were from land far far away.

It is possible that they are part of a scaming team or all of them have BOUGHT profiles and cover letters from the same guy.
