Can we please keep our new forum titles?

I like being a velociraptor much better than being a guru!

Sure, just ask Upwork if there's a position for a Community Manager.

I guess it's Upwork's way of telling us we are dinosaurs.

I think it is a Stegosaurus but they call it Triceratops.

These new names are cute, but chances are they're a part of an April 1st Joke and will disappear tomorrow.

What's the main point for changing titles for dinosaur names? Is there any purpose/story behind it?

Thank you.

Just another proof of some people not knowing what they are talking about.

To Jennifer,

Wrong proof or I was unable to ask that question in proper way. Haha

Previously, people had title on upwork community (your new title is Velociraptor so you were called community guru). But those titles have been changed.

So I requested Sushant to get the main purpose of this sudden change. I asked him because he wrote new dinosaur names corresponding to previous title/rank.

So I knew what I was talking about. (Community rank/title)

They're probably part of an April 1st joke, or maybe just to distract us from all the negativity caused by scams, or maybe both.

Like using the image of an Euoplocephalus and call it T-Rex.
This gives the "fool" in April Fools' Day a new meaning.

Scammers have Angel Wings!

Would that be those labelled Pterodactyl?

Using the same icon for Brontosaurus and Velociraptor undermines my respect for the whole enterprise.

There are 70 million years between them so maybe the file names were no longer legible.

Another idea that upwork has not thought thru.

It's interesting/funny, but I wish they would have chosen some other animal species that isn't extinct:  That's a little 'ominous' to me  😂  Are they trying to tell us something?

We're safe until the next major asteroid hits the planet. At least it'll wipe out all the scammers too.

Are you sure about that? It seems they are more protected than freelancers are. But not here, of course.

The scary part is that cockroaches will survive the apocalypse.

🙂 Yeah, hopefully, tomorrow all dinosaurs will be extinct. I don't want to be a "Guru" or some sort of Dinosaur. Can I please get a coffee name next year e.g. Latte, Espresso?? 🙂

Dinosaurs next to our names?

I feel like I have entered a kindergarten forum...

Are people seriously expected to glean some kind of hierarchy (only referring to the number of posts since joining the forum!) from these new icons?

Are you trying to teach us about extinct behemoths? Is this an ominous sign for things to come?

Also, why are UW employees no longer called that so everybody knows what's what?

It's an April fool's joke, extending well into the 2nd of April.

It's a fool's joke.

I notice all the people who get scammed are classed as "hatchlings".

Guys, it's April 2! The dinosaur joke is getting .... old.

It's over.  At my age, I actually fit the dinosaur image better than the guru image.  Sigh.
