Fed up with my job feed

The last 40 jobs in my job feed are either for entry level or are not part of my skillset. I'm used to it. I try not to get totally p****d off. But this really does annoy me. I get a job posted in my feed which I flagged as not suitable. I am told I can't flag it. I then check the job and I am told access is denied as it is invitation only. So WHY is it in my job feed in the first place?

I would really like a mod to explain this.  Upwork all your new "improvements" seem to have had entirely the opposite effect.

I second that. I have been using the thumbs-down feature for some time getting futile results. It seems completely useless. Someone from support told me "it takes time for the feature to 'learn'"... but I gave up.

I've never used that feature. I don't want an Upwork algorithm deciding which jobs are suitable for me.

My job feed searches are based entirely on the search terms and filters I've chosen. So I only have myself to blame if I'm not seeing the most appropriate jobs. 😉

I pay no attention at all to this "feature." Yet another algorithm that promises much but falls flat in its performance.

After nearly 2 months with no email notification of possible projects for me, I suddenly received one this morning. Low ball projects, none of them even mildly worth a longer look.

Having a saved search has been useless as well.

Hi Nichola,

I apologize for the inconvenience this caused. Looks like Client changed the Job Post visibility to Invite only after publishing it.

Bojan,

You really needn't apologize. I know it's not your fault. So apologies are empty. If the client changed his mind, the job (irrelevant though it was) should have been completely removed from my jobfeed. I should not have received irritating messages that made me waste my time by investigating - or coming on to the forum to complain.

What I would like to see is some action taken to show jobs on my jobfeed that both match my skillset and my hourly rate (and I know other freelancers have the same problem). I am not a web developer, I am not a VA. I do not offer audio transcription. I am not a graphic artist, I do not do telephone sales, and when I do see jobs in my categories - I am NOT entry level and I will not bid on $20 jobs that should start at $200 -  etc. etc. etc. Just for once, it would be really good to see a job offer that I actually would not mind spending six connects on.

And if I don't see any jobs to bid on in the next month, Upwork then will set my profile to private because I haven't earned anything for a month (on Upwork) - go figure.

I hear you. I constantly see VA, transcription or translation jobs in my feed. I wonder why... maybe because I said in my profile that I enjoy working with multilingual projects? Those algorithms really screw things up.

My job feed seems messed up right now.

Usually it's really good.

Here it goes again. My job feed is proposing me to translate from Hungarian to English. Maybe because a Job Specialist sent me an invitation to apply to a translation job from Hungarian about 2 years ago? How did this algorithm ever get the idea that I could speak Hungarian?
