Nice article. What could be more Hawaiian than spam loco moco? Cat Happy But a raspberry to the self righteous comment accusing the writer of callousness. Cat Tongue

Agree - in part 'cos I knew Denby when I was at KHVH -

From a gastronomy perspective, I'm so happy I live in Paris.

You don't care for Hawaiian cuisine? Maybe you'd prefer Texas cooking.

Oh man, I saw that movie. I couldn't stop laughing. I still can't.

You can buy spam (that spam) in one of my local supermarkets. It is quite expensive - a luxury you might say!

She does make it sound like there was absolutely nothing to eat there before the tinned food arrived. I presume the islands must have supported life before SPAM. Or is that the price you pay to live in Paradise? (I was secretly hoping there wasn't a catch).

Bill, my hubby, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES Spam.  IMO sometimes he can be a very sick puppy!  Woman LOL

John will know this but there is an annual Spam Jam Festival on Oahu.  17 years and going strong.  Yes, I'm getting older - a friend's daughter is now one of the primary movers behind the festival.

Tons of local entertainment + some mainland acts; major sponsors --- all lined up to extol the ??? of spam. (something which I find revolting)
