Hi Upwork Community!

Generative AI is officially here, and I’m excited to see how it’ll impact our freelancing! From speeding up content creation to brainstorming ideas, this tech has huge potential.

I’m curious—how do you think AI will change the way we work? Have you tried it out yet? Share your thoughts and experiences!

Looking forward to exploring this new frontier with you all!

Sure, but what can generative AI actually do - in real terms?

Hi Glen,

Generative AI can greatly enhance productivity by quickly generating content, brainstorming ideas, and automating repetitive tasks. It’s been a game-changer for speeding up workflows and boosting efficiency. Have you tried it out yet?

That's another important question we should all be willing to sincerely address.

I’ve been experimenting with AI tools for project management and automating repetitive tasks. It’s been a huge help in streamlining my workflow. However, I’m still figuring out the best ways to integrate it into my creative process. Would love to hear how others are making it work!

I’d love to hear how others are incorporating AI into their creative projects as well!

Totally agree! Generative AI has already started transforming how I handle content creation. It’s a game-changer for speeding up drafts and generating creative ideas. Can’t wait to see how it evolves!

Absolutely!

From a writer's perspective, AI is great at producing boring, mediocre writing that lacks creativity, passion or originality. At the same time, it promises to erase millions of writing jobs, mostly in the entry-level stage, but the jobs will vanish, nonetheless.

Other than that ... well, my vitriol defies sarcasm. There is nothing about AI that is useful from a writing perspective except filling blank pieces of paper with blatant hogwash. (And, as blatant implies, it was intended to be hogwash.) Those who invented AI writing should be proud of themselves, as their invention does exactly what they anticipated, which is to turn the art of writing into a murky swamp full of colorless tadpoles.

What's wrong with this concept: Writing without any input from humans.

If you don't have a problem with that sentence, I don't think I could ever explain it to you.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I understand your concerns about AI's limitations and its impact on entry-level writing jobs. While AI may not replicate human creativity and passion, some see it as a tool that can handle repetitive tasks and inspire new ideas. It’s important to find a balance where AI supports rather than replaces the unique qualities of human writing. I appreciate your thoughtful contribution to the discussion.

For the beginning, this AI revolution is a marvel. But if the deal a person is getting so good, then he must be so wary too. Imagine if you knew that all the proposals you receive from your bidders were generated with AI applicatons. How can you trust any of them with your project?

Excellent discussion on the topic - my humble thoughts. AI is has its good side and I praise its original developers. However, I am afraid that it's bad side will outweigh its good side in the unforeseeable future. I can't imagine reading stories that were never inspired by my fellow human. Also, with what we often see in the science fiction movies, the future of our race is at risk of survival strife in the far future. How far is only a matter of time.

I’m excited about AI too! As a designer, I’ve found it helpful for quick brainstorming and speeding up tasks. While it’s great for efficiency, I think the human touch in design will always be essential. Curious to see how others are using it—how’s your experience been?

Yes! Several times. And it indeed proved very efficient and helpful.

There, it answered your question and I did 0 work!

If you are comfortable with such a slippery slope into the abyss, have at it, but I know who I won't hire as a client here!

Saw this topic after posting my reply on another topic in this Coffee Break forum.

Just want to let you know that most posts in this topic came from the same agency and it's also a question for me if they came from the same person as well.

That's all, bye!
