Happy 72nd Birthday Eric Clapton. Born March 30, 1945. Ripley, Surrey, UK. The only artist in music history to be inducted into the Rock & Roll HOF three times. With The Yardbirds in 1992, Cream in 1993 and as a solo artist in 2000. This great photo was taken in 1967 by Jim Marshall.

Wasn't there, born in the wrong time. But I saw this recently and thought, "It really was about love &
peace."
Sappy, but I know.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation declared the corner of Haight and Ashbury a "national treasure" this past week, defined as "nationally significant historic places where the National Trust is taking direct action." ~KQED online

So - I got married right around the time of Woodstock. Years later, my son and I worked at the same law firm. I later found out that he had told everyone there I had actually gotten married AT Woodstock. Also that I'd toured with KISS for years... Sigh.

Bwahahahahahaha ... too funny!
When my daughter was in elementary and early high school I worked for an all news radio station i.e., despite having upper echelon demographics and being the 'bible' of high-end audience (and lucrative to those of us working there) to a kid it was B-O-R-I-N-G.
The top rock station had a gal on late at night; she went by Wonderful Wendy. One day - out of the proverbial blue - I started getting calls from clients who were parents of my kid's classmates. Sympathy calls. Concerned calls. What can we do to help calls.
Seems the kid was telling everyone mom was famous - and moonlighting. Rock was far more acceptable in her eyes ...

Highly recommend Scorsese's movie about the Rolling Thunder Revue.

I still have my ticket stub from that tour. It was quite the show.

It's strange to think that this could have been a picture of Rod Stewart.

RIP, Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Not a beatnik; not a hippy; not a flower child - but the best of all three.
