I was wondering how do you folks stay productive and efficient during the day?

We don't.

We frequently are NOT productive because we read the Community Forum too often and post here.

The people you want to talk to are the people who DON'T come here and answer questions like this.

Because of back issues, I get up and go outside every 45 minutes or so for 5 minutes.  Helps to refocus.  I also listen to baroque music (Bach mostly) which oddly helps me to concentrate.  I schedule a formal lunch break.  I close all the windows on my computer except for what I'm working on.

But I drift.  We all do and did when we worked in an office setting, too.  Just human nature.

There are participants in this Forum who participate within time boundaries that are positively impactful on their work ecosystem.  I guarantee that as a fact.

The key is not to get addicted to the connectives the Forum provides.  Set time boundaries, don't just "bop out" whenever, and enjoy the clutter and fray.

Preston makes a really good point but I will try to add something of worth.  One thing I still struggle with is when I am really busy taking time off.  I did not work this weekend which was probably the first time in 6 months where I didn't work at least some (except I did go on vacation twice).  I find that leads to burnout and actually makes me less productive.

I have struggled with productivity a lot lately and the one thing I do when deadlilnes are about to kill me is this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique

The basic principle is to know what you are going to work on for a set period of time, then work on that for that period of time, then take a break (and do as Mary suggested), and then take a longer break after so many sets.  I don't do it unless I really need to but when I do it I am very productive.

Sometimes it also depends on the day.  Last Thursday I was a machine.  I knocked a whole ton of work out.  Today, I am feeling really lazy and I might even drift off while typing th...

I found Site Blocker browser plugin to be very useful. I simply blacklisted a bunch of websites that I often visit. With this plugin I noticed a funny thing. I may think about something and at some moment realize I have already opened a browser, typed in an address and clicked enter button. I just do it unconciously.

I have not used it for almost a year though. It prevents me from watching my favorite YT channels Smiley LOL

I poop post on reddit all day and I'm reminded how much better I am than the crazies on that site who hate landlords and create an identity around politics. Fun to troll but my god sweaties go offline and do something that makes  you happy.

I'm playing FF7 and enjoying the story. I feel pretty productive when I kill a boss.

Really, Jen?  You actually work harder than most and make tons of money.  You have been outed!

lol I billed 27.5 hours last week and that doesn't include the phone calls I took. I really start to get burned out after about 25 hours.

Reddit is just horrible.  People there are so mean and nasty and unhelpful.

For real I love the NO REASON posts because unlike this place, you get to find the reason if they give you too much info. lol
