I agree with your view

Yes. I agree with your view, give chance to new freelancer, they are struggling to get job, it doesn't mean they are new freelancer, they don't know how to work, it means they have experience and they are new on upwork, so give chance to new freelancer. I am also new freelacer and struggling to get a new job, but I newver give up!

I agree! Every experienced freelancer was once new, and it’s important to see their skills, even if they’re starting on Upwork. We all have something valuable to offer!

It's true -- every freelancer was once new. However, the number of freelancers who seem to start without any preparation bothers me. I was a freelancer for more than 20 years before Upwork was invented. I worked full-time at other jobs while building up my skills (and courage) to be a full-time freelancer. And it was tough even then. What bailed me out was one client who kept me solvent for eight years running. That was from 2006 to 2014. Upwork's predeceessor Elance wasn't started until 2013 and Upwork didn't come along until 2015.

I have a built in bias, as you see. I'm one of the old timers who thinks newcomers today are unprepared. I should probably quit yarpring about this turn of events. It is what is its. My brain and attitudes have calcified. I'd be the first to admit it.

Portfolio's are there to showcase client about your experience. If portfolio isn't showing good attractive work, Then you have to look at it again

Absolutely! :glowing_star: Every freelancer starts somewhere, and it’s important to recognize the skills and experience they bring, even if they’re new to Upwork. Your determination is inspiring, and I believe that persistence pays off. Let’s keep supporting each other and giving those new freelancers a chance to shine! 💪:sparkles:

However, skilled new freelancers will always stand out from the crowd. Either through their proposals, the questions they ask the client, or how they present themselves.
