I want to know more about German rednecks and the kind of trouble one may expect from them.

Welcome back, Jutta. Hope you are safe and the animals too.
Would love to see new pictures of you and the animals in Germany.

Wild horses could not drag me back to Germany...
Nice to see you back!

The only place in Germany that I know is Essen (Ruhr). I have to admit that it's ugly due to the fact that it has been flattened during WWII and rebuilt hastily.
Food is terrible.
But I would love to see Berlin and Munich.

Munich is not Germany. It's Bavaria. BIG difference.
Personally I can't stand Berlin, but I can't stand big cities in general, with the exception of Kopenhagen, San Francisco, Rome (to a degree) and Munich (also to a degree.)

Yes, I get it that Bavaria is Bavaria and the mentality may be different. The good thing about Berlin that people love is, they say, the fact that Berlin is a vibrant and pretty much international city. If true, I guess it makes it very different from rural Germany.
In any case, nothing could be worse than the Ruhr. I guess.

I will be back for a week to visit my family, have them meet my LO and buy a few things I do not get in Norway, but I have my return ticket booked as well.
