Do you find inspiration in quotes? Entrepreneur.com put out a list of The Best 101 Inspirational Quotes About Change You’ll Ever Read. Many of the quotes on the list were new to me, but I have been known to turn to these types of quotes in times of need.
As a Star Wars nerd, there are two quotes that I go back to over and over again:
“Your focus determines your reality.” - Qui-Gon Jinn
I have a tendency to fixate on problems, even if they are out of my control. This quote helps me to remember that I’m sapping my own energy when I devote time to things I can’t control or that happened in the past. If I focus on the bad stuff, then my reality will seemingly become all bad stuff.
“Do or do not, there is no try.” - Yoda
To me, this classic means that if you set out to try to do something, you’re expecting to fail. Instead, just do it (don’t come for me, Nike!). You might not succeed, but chances of success are higher if you don’t go into a situation expecting to fail.
