When did you pivot to working as a freelancer? (Or hiring them!)

As part of an upcoming campaign, we’re looking for a handful of short blog posts from freelancers about the point at which they pivoted from a traditional career to freelancing and from clients about the point at which they began to turn to freelance talent rather than just conventional employees.

Here are some questions to get the creative juices flowing:

  • Was there a specific event that caused you to try freelancing or to hire a freelancer for the first time?
  • What was your greatest motivation for making the move?
  • How did you feel after your first successful freelancer engagement? (Whether that be as a freelancer or as a client.)

You can drop your experiences in the replies below and I can help craft a blog post. Alternately, you can submit your own blog post directly. These posts don’t need to be long; we just want to highlight some of the scenarios that lead folks to work as or hire freelancers.

As always, thank you!

Cheers,
Mike
