Hello Everyone,

I'm excited to be a part of this Upwork community group and to connect with all of you. I am new to Upwork as I am a college student who wants to get experiences for the future. Let my future customers know that I have experience in what I am doing. My name is Nezzle but is easier to just call me Nez and I'm looking forward to learning from your experiences and collaborating with you all.

Thank you so much for reading this

This is not the place to learn. Clients are looking for people with some experience who can do a job, they are not going to pay you to learn. Now your profile is nothing, with what you have in your presentation, the only thing you are going to get is that some scammer approaches you. You must work on it. The best thing you can do is go to Academy (at the top of the forum), read the ToS and learn about the scams. Search the forum, there is a very good thread about it (I don't have the link handy). And deactivate "Available now", now it is only an expense that will not bring you anything.

Recently I got Rising Star badge but I am currently facing one problem so I would like to hear your opinion on it.

So I got my first contract with one client and I needed to do pretty quick job that took around 2 hours.

I had to build some small website that he will advertise and only that was in the description of the job nothing else .

Later he asked me to help him with something else which will just take few minutes. I did that but it did not help him and not because of me but because of something else which I have no control over. So because of that his website doesn't have much purpose if he does not do that so we are still after a week delaying because that thing is not done which was not described in the job description. I didn't want to push the client to end the contract and pay me because I wanted him to be 100% satisfyed because it's my first job so I can get 5 star review but  now it came to this and UpWork also paused and suspended the contract.

So I am kind of stuck and don't know what to do 😞

Search new job and bid on this.

Hey there!

My name is Mubasher, I'm from Lahore, Pakistan,

It's been two months since I joined Upwork, after sending many proposals I've finally done two jobs with 5-star ratings and looking forward to getting many more. I'm an individual and motivated web developer and I love what I do. I always try to exceed the expectations of my clients to build long-term relationships.

I'm working as a WordPress website developer and I've over three years of experience in designing websites but it's been a hard journey on Upwork to get clients.

I would like professionals to view my profile and suggest to me the weak areas so I can make improvements.

Regards:

Mubasher

hello are available for chat i am expert in logo and graphic design and email marketingISMAIL EXPERT.pngres.jpg

The photo must be of you, nothing else is allowed.

Take advantage of the first two lines to sell yourself, customers can already see what you do in your title, which should be better written, by the way.

If you have more than one skill, create specialized profiles. You have duplicate information in your presentation, it does not give a good image.

Your English does not seem fluent, take care of the punctuation and capital letters.

And finally, where is your portfolio? You are supposed to be an expert, it should be full of examples. But that you have created, do not steal images to fill in.

Yes, I am available to engage in a conversation with you

feel free to reach out

You're wasting the first two lines, which are all the customer sees if they don't open your profile.

You say you have a lot of experience but you only have one item in your portfolio and, sorry, but it doesn't denote a lot of experience.

Also your presentation is a mix of things you can do. If you have multiple skills, create specialized profiles. And again, add portfolio.

How do you expect a client to see how experienced you are or if you could fit what they are looking for?

Be completely honest, both in your experience and in what you show in your portfolio.

Due to my recent time constraints, I have been unable to dedicate a significant amount of time to Upwork.

Consequently, I presently possess only a solitary portfolio.

However, if I am able to allocate more time for work, I will promptly upload additional portfolios. I appreciate your consideration toward an individual such as myself.

The portfolio does not have to be of work done on Upwork. They can be works for clients from outside the platform, as long as you have their permission to publish them (this is also a rule for works on Upwork) or works created for the portfolio (that you have created to show your skills).

Hello everyone, my name is Amor Yamani. I am a professional graphic designer. I have worked for multiple companies as a graphic designer before opening my own small agency specializing in graphic design and printing. However, it wasn't an easy journey. After five years, I have become a better graphic designer with a solid marketing vision and a better understanding of different market fields. I was continuously improving every day, but it's not what I am striving for.

I realized that I had lost an important thing: time. That's why I have decided to switch to freelancing. I am confident that with an ambitious community, I can learn faster about working as a freelancer and effectively manage my time.

Thank you for reading this reply.

Congrats on joining Upwork and this community!

Welcome. Your profile needs work.
The name must be your real one.
The photo must be of you, neither drawings nor logos.
The title should say what you do, and you do several things, not just logos. And if you have multiple skills, use specialized profiles.
The presentation should talk about you, not about us. It's only you. Do not use all caps, it looks very bad.
You should redraft it, you talk about you and not about what you can do for customers. Take advantage of the first two lines to hook their attention.
The presentation video is supposed to be a presentation of you and your work, not a video on how to earn money, right?
Your level of English does not seem native or bilingual.
The portfolio should be full of items, since you say you have experience and again, talk about you, not us. That's what agencies on Upwork exist for. By the way, the example you have is full of company contact information, there's even an account number. You must delete or edit it.

HELLO I AM INTERESTED IN GRAPHIC DESIGN AND WOULD LIKE TO CREATE AWESOME WORK IN COLLABORATION

Hello! That's great to hear that you're interested in graphic design and
eager to create awesome work in collaboration. Graphic design is a
fantastic field that allows you to express your creativity and communicate
messages visually. Collaboration can bring fresh perspectives and ideas to
your work, making it even more impactful.

To create awesome graphic design work in collaboration, here are a few
steps you can follow:

1. Build your skills: Continuously improve your graphic design skills by
learning new techniques, software, and staying updated with current design
trends. Practice regularly to refine your abilities and experiment with
different styles.

2. Network with fellow designers: Connect with other graphic designers,
either through local design communities, online forums, or social media
platforms. Engaging with like-minded individuals can lead to exciting
collaboration opportunities and provide valuable feedback on your work.

3. Seek inspiration: Stay inspired by exploring the work of other
designers, both established professionals and emerging talents. Follow
design blogs, visit art exhibitions, and immerse yourself in various
creative disciplines. Drawing inspiration from diverse sources will help
you generate unique ideas for your collaborative projects.

4. Join design communities: Engage in design communities, such as online
forums or social media groups, where you can interact with other designers,
share your work, and receive constructive criticism. These communities
often host collaborative projects, challenges, or design competitions,
which can be excellent opportunities to work with others and showcase your
skills.

5. Find collaborators: Reach out to fellow designers, illustrators,
photographers, or writers who share similar interests and complementary
skills. Look for individuals who have a collaborative mindset and are
enthusiastic about working together. You can connect with them through
design events, professional platforms like Behance or Dribbble, or through
mutual connections.

6. Define project goals: When collaborating, it's essential to establish
clear goals and expectations for the project. Discuss the purpose, target
audience, and desired outcomes. Setting a shared vision and defining roles
and responsibilities will ensure smooth collaboration and help you create
awesome work together.

7. Communicate effectively: Strong communication is key to successful
collaboration. Clearly convey your ideas, provide constructive feedback,
and actively listen to your collaborators. Regularly check in, share
progress updates, and address any concerns or challenges that arise. Tools
like project management software, instant messaging apps, or video
conferencing platforms can facilitate effective communication.

8. Embrace feedback: Be open to receiving feedback from your collaborators
and other stakeholders. Constructive criticism can help you improve your
work and discover new perspectives. View feedback as an opportunity for
growth and use it to refine your designs further.

9. Iterate and refine: As you work on the project together, be prepared to
iterate and refine your designs based on feedback and new insights. Embrace
the collaborative process, experiment with different ideas, and be willing
to make adjustments along the way.

10. Celebrate and share your work: Once you've completed the collaborative
project, celebrate your achievements and share the final outcome with the
world. Showcase your work on your portfolio, social media platforms, or
submit it to relevant design competitions or exhibitions. Collaborative
projects can provide valuable experience and help you build a strong
reputation in the design community.

Remember, collaboration is a continuous learning process, so enjoy the
journey and keep exploring new opportunities to create awesome graphic
design work together. Best of luck with your endeavors!

Greetings every1. i am Aamnah, i like to design logos and make and edit videos therefore i want to join this platform so i can earn using my skills. i am looking for a job which is time friendly and demands videos social medias such as instagram, tiktok and youtube purposes.

You talk about yourself, but little about what you can do for customers.
If you have more than one skill, use specialized profiles.
You have no portfolio, for any of your skills. You must add work made by you, it is not necessary that they be made on Upwork.
Start with this post to learn how this works and to create a profile:
