First you should do something with your profile. For that, there are courses here, at the Academy.
Writer, okay, but what specialty do you have? or do you write about anything? something to show in the portfolio?
Your English, from what you write, is not fluent, is it?
And, you have an agency, formed only by you, which is design. I'm confused, you're supposed to do design and you don't know how to use Illustrator?
Do not get lost, if you are a writer, focus on it, but before sending proposals, create a proper profile.

By the way, manuals to learn any program can be found on the internet without any problem. I learned Illustrator like this.
