It's all good, but why don't the data add up?
23 vs 6

Untitled.jpgCan confirm, numbers don't add up.

I don't see much logic in implementing new "features" if they can't be done right.

The announcement says

A bar graph will represent each stage of the proposal: sent, viewed, interviewed, and hired

I have 0 viewed but 6 interviews. I suspect that's wrong?

Interestingly, my invites shows "last updated 2/1/22".  This is hardly helpful, IMO.  I have had at least 3 invites and one new contract since then.

Mine says invites were last updated 1/26/2022.

I'm not understanding the numbers on the proposal view. In the last 7 days, I've sent 0 proposals, 3 of which have been viewed. In the last 90 days, I've sent 5 (pretty sure that's not accurate), 12 of which have been viewed.

I went back to my proposal page and found 13 proposals submitted in the last 90 days, not 5.

The stats on my invites haven been updated since 1/27, so that part isn't very useful at all, but when I look at the 30-day range during a week or so when I had the 'availability' badge on, it shows me an increase in 'paid invites', which I am assuming are those 'Talent Specialist' invites Upwork sends out itself "in bulk" (and almost are NEVER a match for me), not invitations directly from individual clients that often are a match and more likely to lead to an interview.   The invites directly from clients are definitely of higher value than 'automated' invites sent from some  computer algorithm. Strangely, no increase in profiles views while the 'available' badge was on, just an increase in those automated 'spam' invites sent from the UW 'talent specialist' algorithm bot thing.

Specifically edited to strengthen the importance of this one thing that should absolutely be removed from Upwork as it is now - the so called "talent specialists". I'm sorry but how this "specialist" can send me offers for translations if I have absolutely nothing in common with translations and my profile is specifically for visual art? Is the fact that I speak two languages (3 actually but no matter) enough to qualify me as a good match for such job? Silly. Unless there are two factors happening: 1 - those "specialists" are just random people and they just randomly press buttons and/or 2 - this is purely computer generated, in which case programmers responsible for that are random people pressing random buttons just to call the job done. In either way, I would greatly appreciate if I didn't have to waste my time on declining those absolutely not matching "offers" I receive from those "specialists". I maintain less than 24 hours response time and I reply every time, yes, even to those randomly generated invitations to non-relevant jobs and this is my time that I sacrifice to keep my reply level. I'd appreciate if Upwork didn't make things harder and more ridiculous than they already are in this world we created.

As a side note, I do hope that testing period for this new feature that is actually the topic of this thread will bear fruits. Analytics is important and thus should be conducted with due attention.

Hello Everybody,

Thanks for sharing your feedback and observations around the new Analytics section on My Stats page. The team is investigating the issues you reported around invites, interviews and views metrics. We'll be sharing more information once we have an update.

Hello valeria,

How can I see the new Analytics section on My state Page? Do I need to do manually things in my account?
So, please help me for the same.

Hi Nirav,

I see Md Nazmul Hasan has already replied to you here, but I'd also just like to confirm that since this is a test, it's being gradually rolled out to freelancers. We are hoping to make it available to all soon though!

Hi Again,

Thanks to the feedback you’ve provided, our team uncovered some backend issues that lead to discrepancies in the data displayed on the My Stats page. As such, this test has been paused as we work to remediate those discrepancies. We intend to resolve these issues and resume the test as soon as possible. We’ll provide another update on the announcement when the test resumes.

Looking forward to this being relaunched! If someone could post here when that happens that would be great.

Hi Robert and others,

The team has made some improvements and fixes and this test has now been resumed. Feel free to check out the update here.

Well done, guys! I don’t mind if the product update would indirectly promote availability or boosting because it’s actually brilliant update and will be very helpful as well.

I don’t think it’s fair to be available to some people like for a year as “test” and not to the rest, the same as other updates.

Would appreciate any information about when will it be available to everyone!

Yep, I had it when it was out in Feb, but don't have it now. Is there is any info when it will be available for everyone?

This is so nice, you may also consider world domination graph. Like a geo-map graph of where the clients/projects are coming in. I would love to join your Analytics support team too 🙂

Thanks for sharing your excitement about the new Performance Analytics feature, Manuel Antonio. I merged your post into the thread where we've been collecting feedback and questions around the beta and will be happy to share your feedback with the team..

When I enter Upwork My Stats,  I go to Analytics. When I see -40% in the picture, what does that mean?

If it shows 100% in green, will I get the work? And will I get orders from Upwork Project Catalog?

Always Availibility Badge should be on?

The beta version has arrived in the Statistics section. A function that I have wanted for a while has been added. I'm so glad to see this. Now we can see how many of our submitted proposals have been seen by the client. This is very important for us freelancers. Especially for those new to Upwork like me.
I wanted to ask something about this feature.
As I shared in the picture. The top bar shows the number of submitted proposals, and the second bar below shows the number of views. But the alignment of the bottom bar is a bit confusing. It's in the middle aligned. Why is this bar centered? For example, now I have 18 proposals and it means that my7-9th proposals were viewed. Or is it just the ratio of widths to each other? If only their ratio to each other is shown, could it be left-aligned?
Also, I guess the x and y coordinates don't make any meaning.
I hope this function is developed a little more.
However, even this much gives an important tip for freelancers to improve ourselves.
Thanks UpworkEkran Resmi 2022-06-22 16.50.49.png

Hi Havva,

Thanks for coming here to share your excitement about this feature as well as questions!

That graph won't show which specific proposals were viewed.  But there is a meaning behind that design. The alignment of the bars is designed that way intentionally to look like a funnel. The proposals going through various stages (sent, viewed, interviewed, and hired) would look like they're trickling down that funnel.

I would appreciate if this feature meant for freelancers was launched for all freelancers, not just the chosen ones. If you cannot launch it for everyone at once, hold it until you can. It is unfair and defeats the purpose of the testing period since not everyone can obviously test it. But I am sure you have "reasons"...

I can see the # of hires from proposals sent, which is good. The # of hires from invites would make it better.

Is there any way to change the Analytics style from BETA to the normal or old  STYLE, I guess the Beta style is not very helpful like the old one, and want to change it .

Is it possible to change it ?!

Hi Karim,

I have merged your post into the thread about this update. After weeks of testing and getting positive results as well as feedback, the team rolled new performance analytics features to all talent. Unfortunately, it's not possible to revert back to the old version anymore.

Thanks, Valeria for your response,

Actually, I think the Analytics page is the most important one while I am online to look on it even more than the jobs search page because it gives me information and data about everything that is happening with my profile, proposals, and the progress of my work.

I hope you make it more advanced at least because it's very helpful.

Thank you again.

I have a question. The stats we see in the Analytics for boosted proposals, does it apply to those boosted proposals that actually got to the top or all boosted proposals including outbid ones?

Hi Daniil,

Thanks for your question. The metric for boosted proposals includes all proposals that were boosted. Right below, you'l also be able to see how many boosted and non-boosted proposals were viewed.

This is the best update in years! It improves the understanding of how messages work, and gives an opportunity to find and strengthen the weak points of your offer! This update is an absolute success!!! I love it.

If you have any other opportunities to show us our statistics, analytics, and any information that is currently closed from us, that would also be a great success!

Thanks for sharing this with us, Artur! I'm happy to hear you love the new Analytics.
I'll go ahead and merge your post with the thread we specifically dedicated to feedback and questions about the feature. Feel free to share any other suggestions you may have. What other metrics would you like to see on your My Stats page?

~ Valeria
Upwork

Thank you, Valeria for explaining the mechanism of the metric for boosted proposals! I agree with Artur, the new Analytics is much more helpful than it used to be. Can I also add my bit on what would be even more helpful? It would be great if we could choose dates to see the metrics, not just 7/30/90 days. The issue is with the current set up is that I can't see the clear picture. I can't trach the meteics of ongoing working week (from Mon to Fr) because it counts the metrics from the last week as well. I can see the whole picture only once a week on Sunday. Only this way I can actually see how many proposals were sent from Mon to Fr and other metrics.
Thank you

This could be a useful stat. My own stats show me my intro is working well but the rest needs work.

But there's a problem...

I use two profiles to apply for jobs with - standard and specialized. And these stats tell me nothing about how well each one is performing. It could be that one is doing superbly, and the other poorly, but I've no way of knowing. I know it's just a beta and might be enhanced but, as things stand, what could have been a useful stat is made useless.

I recently posted about this in my Group hub, that this new feature is useful and that we can gauge how our proposals are doing to some extent. It would be so much better if we could tell exactly which ones were viewed, don't you think?

Good point on the two profiles issue.

I'm no coder, but you'd think it wouldn't be too difficult to let us select one or the other.

Upwork,

I like the new analytics graph on the My Stats page.

Wish list - please add monthly totals of proposals requested from potential clients and proposals made by me.

Hi Will,

Thank you for your sharing your feedback. I will pass this to the appropriate team.

Thank you,

Pradeep
