Hello,
In May 2017 I received a message from Upwork with a special promotion with 0% fee when I bring my own client to Upwork (I am a Top rated freelancer) and I received an invitation linked to send it to my client for register and activate this 0% fee. A few days ago, I send it to my client and he registered and started a Upwork contract and now, when the contracted is just ended I realized that I have standard 20% fee. What to do in this situation? It's obvious that I was not intended to bring my client to pay 20% to Upwork.
Thank you!

Good day!! I have a question, I brought the client through a referral link, wrote to BringYourClient@upwork.com with information about the client and the contract number. The client hired me, and wants to pay me the work that we have already done with him, but the 0% service fee has not yet been applied. Can I Submit Work for Payment?
Will 20% of the fees be canceled?
Thank you all have a nice day !!!

Hi Lena E,
I am a Top rated freelancer and bring some of my clients on upwork. As I didn't know this benefit and got charged as per the upwork fee structure. Can we still avail the offer as more work is expected to come from those clients?

While I like the sentiment of this, getting payment via Upwork has always been a giant pain. We have to wait a week for payment to clear and then a few days for it to be sent via ACH. One could argue you can do instant, but I refuse to pay $2 for something I believe should be included with the hefty percentage Upwork takes.
Also looking at the payment calendar / any sort of billing has always been painful in Upwork. Finding out when I will get paid requires me to go to Settings -> Get Paid. Why is this the case when the primary reason i'm using Upwork is to make money? Funding details should be some of the most prominent menu choices available to me.
Some may argue the points made above are small things in comparison to what Upwork provides. However with the new 20% -> 10% -> 5% pricing model and the fact that they now take from clients as well I expect much more from this service. We certainly pay a lot for it.
Hopefully this does not fall on def ears. While I can see some idealogy behind why Upwork is doing certain things sometimes it feels like they just have the muscle now to do what they like. I don't mind the steep fees guys but I expect a better product. Especially in regards to the what, when, how I get paid.
Bottom line until the above points are worked out I can't ever see myself bringing a client to Upwork unfortunately.
Thanks in advance for reading this little rant. Looking forward to seeing how Upwork evolves.

Hi support,
I have invited the client then he was hiring me then he got message that first you need to register then you can hire the freelancer when he signed up from my invitation link and he sent me the invitation on the project and after the project acceptance i was charged with fees of 20%, but i read that you will not charge any fees for personal client. I would like to request you for the fee charges return. You can even verify from your side, I will appreciate your favour for this concern.
Regards

You need a special link to bring your own clients, and this initiative is only for top rated and RT freelancers, so you do not qualify for it.

Hi,
The last client that I worked with actually contacted me via email... and I brought her here ... how do I claim back the 20% that you guys took? Ha ha ha.. **Edited for Community Guidelines** ... I miss ODESK ...
I am sure this will not be possible ... but I just thought it would be worth asking
I have a lot of clients outside upwork... but if you are not paying for the introduction why should I ... expose myself to more competition ... also you guys keep my money for 5 days .. even after the contract is closed.. I lose on Interest ... I have to pay a dollar on top of that and get lower than market exchange rates... hmmmm nahhh its a bad idea .. Thank you anyway

Would you please let me know how many % you are charging currently as per client perspective and me both. Suppose the client needs to pay 500 USD then total How many clients need to pay and How much I will receive?
Thank you
